Deep in the Dee Valley, the town is surrounded by beautiful hill country, perfect for exploring by foot or driving the many country lanes by camper van! Walk the Llangollen Canal or take a trip by horse-drawn boat over the spectacular Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Explore the castle above the town or take a scenic trip by steam train down the valley.
Llangollen is easy to reach by car, train, bus or plane. It’s on the A5 London-to-Holyhead road, built by celebrated engineer Thomas Telford. The motorway network is just 30-40 minutes away. The town is within two hours’ drive of Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester – and closer still for everywhere in between!
